Here's a few more pics to bring us upto date.

All bolted down on the jig to check everything is straight.

I decided to put the complete side panel on this time rather than having a join on the sill and 'A' post

Nice work. They look so much better with no sliding doors :).

Just out of interest, where do you get the panels from? Do you fabricate them yourself, have them made up elsewhere or is it direct from vw?

Also, is it something that would be able to be done with a maxi?

I'd love to be able to afford to go to those lengths to get the perfect van.

Its just a left hand drive side panel from VW so it could be done on the maxi as long as they are available with one sliding door ;)

Right I really need to update this thing as the van has moved on a bit.

I wanted to eliminate any issues I might have if I want the van to sit really low so I cut off the anti roll bar brackets and moved them downwards

Bilstein have been sorting me out with a coilover kit to try out but early signs look like the front will not drop low enough. I'll wait until the van is all back together first as its not got much weight in it yet.

I couldn't find a tailgate anywhere and with new ones costing over £400 I bought this one fit for the scrap heap for £150 :( and got modifying. Mk5 golf handle, narrows number plate recess, high level brake light delete and original handle delete plus the damage repairs.

Fuel flap gone

As ever, a serious amount of work and skills on show. Top work, Matt. Narrower number plate recess looks cool!

What was the drop on the bilstein's ? think there was similar questions on the T5 not quite low enough on the fronts but very smooth on the road for coillies.
