I prefer the proportions of the swb but practicality had to take priority (That probably means i'm turning into an old fart tho!)
I'm also pretty sure that it doesn't load in and out any quicker than if you have to take the wheel off

The simplest way to do the front wheel is just two rails, similar to the back one but without the triangle upper part but I like to overcomplicate little tinkering projects to keep me occupied!

Got another couple of jobs ticked off the list lately, got all the thermoliner into the back - for some reason sticking this stuff down is nowhere near as fun as satisfying as doing dodomat...
had to take the bulkhead out for the 150000th time to get in behind the corners
Got all the way down to the bottom of the side panels

And done the back doors and the lower part of the side doors, the easiest way I found to do the barn doors was to use smaller pieces that are more manageable to wiggle into position without sticking in places you don't want them

The only parts I haven't done yet with thermoliner are the upper side panels as i'm a bit stuck as how to attach ply in the recess. I want to put a 5mm panel into it and I've tried just using a baton down the centre rib to screw it too but the ends are a bit too flappy. So if anyone has got any ideas or can screenshot something from the how-to section that would be great. Needs to be a method that is tidy and takes into account the carpet thickness too!

Hahahaha all a part of the riding as my old bike was the same. But then I think my new one will do at some point even though I've had some big saves on her so far.

Looks good, I like the idea of the bike mounts and Velcro straps, being in a swb I’ll need to take off the front wheel tho.
I’ll keep checking on this post and look to possibly post up my own too

Hi, i used aluminuim composite sheet to fill in my panels. I made a template from card and transfered to the acs then i bonded it on with tiger seal. Its easy to use and u can bend it to follow the curve of the van. I then carpeted over it, job done. Have sum pics of it on here in the build section on ‘gertrude’ thread when i showed him where id mounted my rear speakers. I also sound deadened the van before i stuck the acs on. Hope this helps.

In my case it’s the other half’s daily as well as weekend bike transport. Parking challenges where she works rather than solely cosmetics were a major driver for getting the SWB. I think if the Maxi was an option we’d have been in the territory balancing whether we may as well get a SWB transporter.

Good progress!
I'm also stuck on that bit. Current plan is to cut some 9mm ply to fit then use sealant to bond it into the recess. Then just carpet over the whole lot.

tbh I only did it because it was already fairly clean underneath, it probably only took an hour or so to brush the waxoyl on.

I still haven't figured this out yet, I want the ply panels to be a different colour carpet from the walls. I'm swaying towards putting a 3mm strip of ply behind the lip and then screwing through the lip and into that to give it something to bite into. Would help if I could make up my mind about which colours to do the carpet too!
