Did ur van not have tweeters in the top of the dash as standard? Iv got them in my mk4.
Looks greatcorrigan42 wrote:Went to a local paint shop and got a can of 2k paint mixed up and it’s a much better match! Left over night to dry, then it’s time to polish and fit it all
Carpeted the roof and added some holes for some down lights, ignore the carpet bulging out I sorted that lol
Lovely and bright in the back now! Also wired a switch so I can turn them off when needed, will add a permanent feed to it in the future.
Carpeted bulkheads in now also, had a bit of a happy accident where I didn’t trim the ply floor enough for the bulkhead to slide in front of, but because of that the bulkhead now sits a little further back, and I can recline the seat much further back
Now onto making holes for the reversing sensor in the new rear bumper, was a bit scary, but the Sealey pdc tool I bought made it super easy.
Glad I bought the tool and didn’t just try to drill them, as it did a really clean job!
Not bad at all!
Getting the bumper and sensors into place however was a bit of a struggle!
Thank god that’s over
Painted sliding door cover installed
Rear door trim colour matched and fitted
Caddy life mirrors and painted side trim installed![]()
So glad to get rid of those awful side mirrors!

Nah it’s a startline model so there was no tweeters in the dash! Even if there was I would have moved them to the door as, the sound is much better compared to the stock ones that just bounce the sound off the windscreenScotscad wrote:Did ur van not have tweeters in the top of the dash as standard? Got them off a guy off Facebook called carpanels4u which is an aftermarket painted bumper, super nice guy and really good paint work! Better than the front bumper I bought off ebayFlog_TSC wrote: Looks great

Is the dash a tmg one ?corrigan42 wrote:Couldn’t resist the digi dash upgrade!
Easy install, but I had an issue were the van wouldn’t start, reseated the connector in the back a few times and all is good![]()
Also got an android head unit with CarPlay and hdmi output, so I can feed the dash that signal, rather than screen mirror straight from the phone. Also wrapped the head unit surround in gloss black
HDMI out from the head unit works a treat!
Had to take the dash out at this point, as audio was also coming out of the tiny speaker in the new dash lol, removed the speaker and reinstalled the dash, all done
Door handles also done in gloss black

Cheers for the info yeah I did think that I don’t understand how that tmg lot are doing so good the slap some paint and loads of bolt on stuff and claim limited etd pmslcorrigan42 wrote:I bought it from AliExpress but it’s exactly the same thing as tmg sell for half the price, keep an eye out for vouchers as I got it for nearly £100 off around Black Friday.
You’re just paying for the tmg name with their one, best place to get one would be through https://everest-vw.co.uk/ a little bit more expensive than straight from china, but he really knows his stuff and would sort any issues quickly.
I think it’s great, really customisable and brings the interior up do date!
the only downside is it doesn’t fit the shape of the dash perfectly, the curves at the top of the dash are miles off lol. Some people put strips of black adhesive foam there to kinda fill the gap, but it doesn’t bother me that much.

Yep!
Nice one may treat myself in the new yearcorrigan42 wrote: Yep!
I've heard the mk3 might need a little trimming behind the dash to fit perfectly tho.
This is the one I bought, just be sure to select the correct year!

Only issue that's popped up after driving a few miles, is the "miles remaining" screen seems to be displaying the wrong number, looks like it's showing KM rather than miles... think this can be fixed via VCDS so will be giving this a go soon!
