More progress pictures of the Caddy 4wd conversion here, still quite a bit to do but I think Slide Motorsport  are on the home stretch now (kind of).

Lots of time has been taken to make this look as factory as possible and cut as little of the original Caddy shell.

Hopefully we should have some more updates soon.

The Caddy is now back from Slide Motorsport and this is the result, around 100 hours went into the 4WD conversion alone. After fitting the rear subframe the original Caddy cross bracing was fitted back in to give the floor some strength.

Once we get this all seam sealed and under sealed then I think it will look like it came from the factory like this, then we can move on to fitting the shiny parts :D

While it was there Slide fabricated us a custom roll cage, we had asked for the door bars fitting as low as possible so it would still be easy to enter & exit on daily duties, we also asked them to make the rear strut brace removable so we can easily take it out when we're off to collect parts in it.

There's still lots of work to do before I can actually drive it and we will be going backwards before going forwards (Removing everything to clean & paint) but hopefully it won't be too long before we can get some time on it to get it sorted.

No problem for mot the most you would look at is if the drivers seat slides back and forwards if your not running harnesses.

So they ignore the engine, 4WD conversion, roll cage, suspension etc and just look at the seats. Kinda defeats the purpose of MOTs doesn't it?

Obviously you would look at it but as you can see it not been chucked together and glued like thay have said when its done and underseal it would look like it was done in the factory. regarding the rollcage as long as there isn't any sharp edges and it doesn't restrict the view of the road it has nothing to do with the MOT at all i mot afew Group B rally cars every year including our world rally car we also have VOSA on site all the time because we have a VOSA Test Lane for the trucks
