Sounds like you’re making great progress on this Colin. I bet you can’t wait until it’s fully set up and running properly.
With your methodical approach, I’m sure it won’t be long!
I must say, with the current fuel price rises, your timing is perfect!

Cheers Pete.
I've been losing sleep over the swap, not sure if it's anxiety over getting it to run, excitement about getting it to run or the cost of fuel to keep it ruining!
Going to pick up another fuel filter this morning and fingers crossed get it running and driving.

Reading through this is making me nervous at the work required.
Would be great to see this finished and some road test videos
When I’m brave enough, I’d love to do an electric conversion project :p

Thanks for having a read through!
Yeah, I thought the same when I first thought about it however, after chatting and taking advice from a few folks on the forum that have done it it has been relatively straight forward.
It been really important to take your time, do your research, make a plan and write everything down including any dynamic changes/tweaks you make when in the midst of doing the conversion.
I’ll record some clips once it’s all back together and pop them up on YouTube with links from here.
An electric conversion does sound good too!

I think I’d have had a few sleepless nights too mate. I’ve had them over far less than an engine conversion I can tell you.

Pete, Haha, me too!
Down to one error, no communication with G85 (steering angle sender) off the recheck my wiring to the electro mechanical power steering module (J500)
And then… time to swap insurance and take for a wee spin

Power steering fault tracked down to a faulty steering module, replaced with a midline, non MFSW version and now working. Just need to work out how to clear the steering fault indicator code
Washed away the last of the old diesel traces this afternoon
Also gave the old engine a quick clean to remove the workshop “stoor”
Still to remove the old diesel wiring(wary of taking it all out until I’ve driven the van for a few hours to confirm the wiring is all good) and wrap the looms to get back to the factory look.

Nice work Colin well done mate you must be chuffed to have it up and running and on the road. I’ll listen out for the V6 burble and keep my eyes peeled for the blue flash as I’m driving around the local area.

Alex mc cheers and yes, we’ll chuffed!
Need to find a replacement steering control module to get my MFSW back up and running
We should get a local meet-up arranged…

Cheers guys!
Sean1066 cheers! And yeah, it sounds amazing!
I’ve been driving around the local roads looking for junctions just so I can hear the engine and exhaust when I pull away

I’m sure you need to do a proper road test and drive it to Hindhead tunnel!
Oh, is that near us?
