After repeating issues with my front bumper I decided to strip it down and re-weld it, I’ve been on with it on and off for over a month but finally have it to a point I can hand it over to the body shop for paint. I wouldn’t like to think how many hours I’ve spent on it and as it doesn’t look like the van will be moving much I’m undecided if I’ll refit it this year or just wait until next.
Thanks to @Barbel for the advice on what products to use.

I feel your pain mate. Ive built a few bumpers and they are a lot of work. You can’t go wrong with evercoat fillers - they are the best I’ve tested. Hope you no longer get any issues.

Yeah crazy amount of time, there is no chance it would have ever been finished if I wasn’t off work. Yeah Stu said to use nothing but Evercoat so took his advice. Fingers crossed (and everything else) this will be the last time it needs painted, as I’ll be honest I was getting sick of it and did contemplate leaving the stock bumper on permanently.

Hi another awesome mod.......
I’m intending to do this to my 2012 with Climatic. That digital display is luring me in.
My dash is out and van in bits due to furlough and other completely unnecessary mods/improvements. So seems like the perfect time.
I’ve been trawling eBay and this forum trying to gather what I need. Did you need to buy an additional loom or was existing one modified? Would you mind sharing any part numbers heater box/panel/sensors, as it seems to be a bit of a minefield.
I have no issue doing the conversion, but I’m lacking VW specific knowledge.
Many thanks.
Such a nice van that just keeps getting better..........

Glad to see you’re getting somewhere with the bumper mate. I’m sick of the damn things :( They're so awkward to work on and if I never have to do another one it’ll be too soon :D

@Cailsey You need to make some new looms for the additional sensors and repin the existing van loom to suit. The part numbers I have used are in the thread below. I will update this thread once I get round to finishing mine off completely.

Top work fella, as always!
Have you got any close ups of where the actual cuts go on the bumpers?
There's a few different ways, I think.....im just trying to narrow my options :D
