This is the ultimate build series. Can't believe the detail going into this.
Really looking forward to seeing the colour.

Every single door stand was in use today, so decided to just prime the outside of these two for now so i have something to block sand, i'll do full coverage coats later

Hood seam sealed, almost ready for final paint
Had this door stashed away for a while, it had some damage but basically fully rust free, just a couple of galvanizing blisters here and there!
Done the filler flap aswell, had to sand blast it a little bit as it had started rusting a tiny bit around the flange on the inside
Sliding door and the rail cover getting there. had to sandblast the backside of the rail due to some rust starting to pop up.
This thing has been retrofitted at some point by a previous owner, and they never painted the backside, it was left bare galvanized steel as they come new from vw.

Looks smart!
Should have smoothed off door trims
One less thing to glue back on

2k's tend to look a bit naked with smoothed trims tbh, it works on some, i'm going for more of a OEM+ look with this
Got brand new two tone mk4 trims goin on!
Some more progress, i'm starting to see the light at the end of the bodywork tunnel

Lots of blocking and tidying up minor imperfections
Tomorrow morning i'm of to a pick n pull that has some caddys, and a touran in stock, hopefully i can snag a few bits i'm missing. then back at it with the prep all weekend.

Had quite a successful breaker haul today!
mk4 non towbar rear crash bar. I never tow anyway, and my bar is really crusty, one captive nut broke off when taking it off, so i had to bust the grinder out, and the wiring for it is all oxidized so i doubt it even works. So i'm ditching it.
Also a bunch of caddy life interior bits, and a pocket full of "good to haves"
Cut the panel and drilled holes in the door to fit
Trimmed the old plywood panel to fit, i plan on filling the screw holes in it, and attach it with double sided taped velcro strips, and everything will be carpeted
Primed these, forgot to take photos though
Sorting out the outside of the sliding door now, its one of the worst panels on the van, needs plenty of bondo and blocking
