My Caddy engine conversion/swap

Hello everyone, finally got myself a caddy, as you can see there is potential but of course she needs an engine first. Easiest option is to put in what came out, a 105 but thats just boring so any constructive input is very welcome.
Gerry from performance tech has suggested a 130pd from a golf 4 as it'll all fit and should only need a few wire re-pins on ecu (plus other things etc) as they're basically same as 105pd engine but stronger
Or go mad and try the 170cr conversion, again it all fits but wiring is a pain. I'm trying to get in touch with SMARTUKI as he has a running 170cr but can't find how to message the chap? Surely it's just matching the ecu output to the dash/car loom?
For info I'm not worried about elec windows/ac or anything, just want a nice engine in there for a sleeper van, any thoughts welcome
P.S. I'm just finishing my r32 powered Lotus Elise so I'm crazy not stupid and more than capable, just want the knowledge before I get fully stuck in, Thankyou in advance guys :-)

a golf 130PD engine is a good bang for buck engine. they are cheap and plentiful, and will go straight in. i think you could just run it with an EDC15 ECU and loom.
have you got any ball park figures for a 170 CR engine? i bet it's alot,

Hello Gerry, think your idea will win Gerry if your still interested
The only reason I fancied the 170 is that a local guy has a rear end passat 170 for £2k but my worry is stopping the emobilizer because the clocks and ignition barrel are not easily swaped. The 170 ecu does plug straight into the car loom (may need to re-pin few wires) but basically it should run the instruments/fuel pump and the key should start the ecu in theory but it's just the imobilizer that won't let it work cause of key/instru cluster not matching
I guess I could move absolutely everything over and make my own dash for the new instruments but and it's a big obvious BUT (THIS IS WHERE YOU STEP IN GERRY) a pd130 hydrid turbo, clutch, intercooler, exhaust, 200+ Bhp easy 6speed so why bother with 170cr, talk to me Gerry...
This is a very early picture, been rebuilding it since, almost finished it

Ill be in touch soon George, got a hectic week just finishing off a K26 N/A build and a TDI swap.
Lotus must be great to drive, does it wheelie with the torque??

Maybe, so if the van goes missing I know who to call lol
Cheers Gerry, as and when, no worries, it can now stay here for as long as required so no worries but its here when your next passing etc
As for lotus, only done 300 miles in two years and it was only around 230bhp for that time, nothing but problems because it wasn't built properly in the first place, last job is to change the engine wiring as its poor quality and most are twisted together and rapped in duck tape instead of spliced properly!! Rather not have a fire lol
I should imagen when running 300 it'll be undriveable as oppose to fun, so only time will tell
