After driving a few new Caddy 1.6 tdi's I decided my old SDI has to go and I've been searching for a replacement for a couple of months.
After building the Blue van and driving it daily for a couple of years I now know what I wanted from the new van.
I havn't got the funds to by a new a new van so I have to it the hard way once more
The new van has been with me for seven days and here's how its gone with a few evenings and a bit of work over the weekend.

Spec : 2012 62reg 1.6tdi Bluemotion
Mileage 782
Electric mirrors.
Electric windows.
Aircon.
Cruise control.
Stop/start.
Anti roll back.





Still has the protective film on the clocks


Being an RAC van it came nicely kitted out.




The front end is a nice straight forward bolt on panel swap.




The rear is a little worst and needs a bit of a pull and new rear panels.


Rear suspension and tool chests out.


LHR chassis leg kink due to being hit on the end of the towbar.


Side all stripped ready for its major operation.


Oh dear.


And this is where we are at today. Euro side panel and rear panels on order and jig brackets being delivered before the weekend.

Been following this on facebook. Looking good so far. What have ya in mind for colour or are you keeping the orange?

I'll announce the plan now and we can see how close it is when finished.
Loosing the sliding door like Hulks caddy but not decided on the filler cap yet.
Tailgate conversion like my blue van (no badge or handle)
Golf R/Touran hybrid front bumper with Touran grille (chrome slats painted gloss black)
Latest shape Touran mirrors
Touran wings (no side repeater lamps)
Rear arches widened to allow for 9.5 or 10 x 19 bbs ch or ch-r (this might change)
Colour will stay orange but will probably be the Porsche gt3 orange as its a bit nicer.
The plan is to get it finished for E38 and have it stickered back up as an RAC van but with RAD

I am looking into this but due to the filler neck being a 2 tube plastic setup its looking difficult

It's simple compared to ripping the side of!
Let your mind run wild Matt, I wish I had a workshop to create that one mod nobody else would have the nuts to try.
This will no doubt stand out but it should be like a 7ft hooker at a dwarf nun convention.

If your current Caddy is anything to go by them I'm sure this will be something amazing. Definitely going to keep up with this and looking forward to seeing which way you go with it!
