thinking of getting a rns510 ave. selling for £500 on ebay I have see a rns510 with dab for £900 ie is it worth the extra money don't wont to spend that much if its sh--

I love my DAB in my RCD510 but beware you'll need to either fit a god awful window aerial (£20) or an oem wing mirror Ariel kit (£100) to get decent reception

I recently removed my headlining to retrim it and stuck my window mounted aerial to the roof which worked whilst on the drive but now drops out all the time when driving so will be fitting the oem wing mirror kit asap!

I recently toyed with upgrading to RNS510 but if i'm honest after playing with Doc's one i wasn't that impressed, it felt clunky to use and a bit slow and retarded so am sticking with RCD510 DAB and maps on my android phone

I've just gone from an rcd510 to an rns version H,and daves bang on the money,they are a bit slower...However it get me from harwich to Austria and all the way back through Germany without a single problem...

Yeah latest version may be slightly quicker but for my money i'd get an RCD510 DABfor about £250 and it'll be brand new and a europe dogs bollox this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165685

No just for fm only, just wondered if there was another option available other than the screen, since non genuine glass has been fitted its not as good and autoglass have changed glass (another non genuine one) and booster but still no better, they won't fit Vw glass unless a written report from Vw so it's been in Vw they say all seems ok radio and cable wise and glass seems ok but can't say for defo so no report issued, they have apparently 'optimised' my radio for weaker signals

If radio was ok befor new screen the. Something needs doing!

they are surely liable to fot a vw screen to improve it or get them to subsidise a dab radio and mirroe aerial

Do the new vans not have FM and DAB in the mirror? I thought the screen antenna was a thing of the past.

My fm is in the mirror on a 2011 van. I've got rns315 which I wanted to add dab to but haven't found a definitive answer what I need to add. Not sure if the dab aerial is in the other mirror and it just needs coding or if there is another module that needs adding.

Oops my bad

Mirror should contain fm2, dab and gps in one. 3 fakra type connections in there. One for each.

This is defo an upgrade Ishall be doing asap after a trip to cornwall this week

I thought it was both mirrors that had aerials if you had fm, GPS, phone and dab. I need to pop the ns one open and see if the dab one is in there as that's where I believe it should be.
