So I've just bought this beauty. Some of you may recognise it, I bought it off Sean who originally posted it up here.

I'll get some better photos but in the mean time this one will do. It's been raised slightly, I'll probably drop it back down a bit but not sure I can go much lower due to the lovely speed bump that sits outside my house.

FITTED
V-Maxx coilovers
Engine re-map to 140
19" CSL Alloys
Cupra spoiler
Side bars
Seats reupholstered in black and blue leather
All in one multimedia system.

TO DO
Slider covers
Centre console with armrest
New Steering wheel
Carpet back and footwells
Spoiler
Engine cover
Touran mirrors

I've got a plan mapped out in my head for the back of the van to turn it into a camper/bike hauler but I've just got to convert that into actually doing it, I'm just not sure how or where to start. I'm sure I've missed some things but never mind.

Just stripped out the bulkhead, it's left a right eyesore, I was half expecting it from other peoples' photos, but i looks worse in real life. Don't particularly want to chop up a solid bulkhead so going to see about getting a mesh one to mutilate. It has given me some more ideas of how to turn it into a part-time camper. I can tell this is going to cost me more money than I really want to but it'll be worth it.

I'm also considering sticking in a curtain in place of the bulkhead, has anyone done this if so what is the best way?

So it's been slow progress, just bought some touran lights so am waiting for those to turn up and fit them.

In the meantime I have trimmed down the bulkhead and fitted that to cover the ugly hole left by removing it. The back is stripped and cleaned (well apart from the side doors) ready to be sound proofed and insulated.

More in the pipeline.

mmmm maybe... Not a popular decision I'm sure but I didn't see any recent ads wanting one in the classifieds (assumed you must have had yours sorted by now?) and didn't really want to buy a mesh one to use (i'm quite impatient), so just went for it.

If it makes things any better, I did say I didn't really want to do it at first

Well, it's still slow going but sound-proofing has just been purchased from classic acoustics. While waiting for that to turn up I have fitted some touran lights and wind deflectors. I'll get some better pictures over the weekend when it's been cleaned and I can get it off the drive.

Been a while since I updated this. Not much has happened as my hours at work means progress is much slower than I had hoped.

But I've just fitted touran door cards, and some b-pillar trim from a facelift caddy.

Image

I've finally finished soundproofing and hopefully over the next week I'll get the insulation in, and panels fitted ready for carpeting.

Image

Still so much I want to do cosmetically but I just cannot afford it.

Steering wheel
Centre console
Side rail covers
Rub strips and bottom of the front bumper colour coded
Spoiler
Mirrors

Are all on my list of things to do. Slowly but surely I suppose.

Well the van is currently VOR. Drove fine one day and came to it today and there is very little pressure in the brakes, comes back with a bit of pumping but very scary to drive, foots going almost to the floor before it stops.

Can't see that there has been an obvious leak anywhere but it's broken nonetheless. So as I need new pads and disks I might use it as an excuse to upgrade anyway. Anybody got the reg of a mk5 golf, best way for my garage to get the correct parts in?

Just fitted some LED side lights, they look the business! shame the main bulbs aren't quite as white, might have to look into fixing that.

On the downside. The brake problem has been diagnosed, the right rear caliper is weeping from around the bleed nipple as it was loose, I've had it tightened up but it's still doing it. So, hopefully next week I shall have all the parts for a brake upgrade (mk5 gti but keeping the same calipers, I can paint them at a later stage.) so I'll be sticking a new caliper on that rear at the same time to make sure.

Thanks. I'm very tempted to put a grill with a badge on and black it out. Still not sure whether I'm that keen on the badgeless grill.
