Some fantastic seat swaps, really looking forward to doing similar and ditching the originals.

Re: show me your seats!
Hey has anyone ever installed tiguan seats in a caddy?
I got some comfortline bases so that it was a direct bolt on without having to drill original bases however they sit way to high now.
Can they be installed directly to floor and if so do you need to cut off locating pins and do other mods? Will they sit too low if directly on the floor?

Re: show me your seats!
Yes - Way too high
I fitted a Tiguan fold flat seat in my Caddy Mk4 on a Mk3 base.
Mounting may depend on the design of your particular seats.
On the seat I have there is a single spreader bar that sets the width of the runners.
I cut about 7mm off each end and re-tapped the holes to make sure there was enough thread depth (may not be necessary).
I bent the runners inwards to about the correct width and used a large SS flat washer at each end of the spreader bar to spread the load. Screwing back up draws the runners to about the right width.
Bend or cut off any location pins that get in the way !
Bolt down with a bit of twisting and forcing if necessary ...
I think I had to use a different hole at the back rather than the correct ones ? May need to do some drilling ??
Sits about the right height now (just).

Geez that sound like a heap of work haha, I’m not sure I’ll get it right!
I wonder if it is more simple to remove the cushions and covers and install them on the original caddy frame. If anyone has ever done it let me know. The Tiguan drivers side is electric but I don’t really care that much about it if goes back to manual

Re: show me your seats!
Picked up these seats to fit in my caddy today.
They sit quite high as they are so may try fitting them onto the original caddy bases.
Will try tomorrow and update when they are installed

They’re nice!
I’ve got A1 S-Line half leather in mine, and they are spot on….those will be better with the knee bit

@Stedlocks
How did you get on with the electrics?
These have the lumbar support and airbags but my old seats didn’t have any electric so need to get these wires up

I’ve never bothered, to be honest… I’ve never felt the need, but still have the looms dangling, ‘just in case’

Re: show me your seats!
I actually got rid of some 2018 A1 rear seats, (they came free with the a1 seats I fitted). they were extremely bendy .. I'd imagine you would need some kind of frame/bench to fit in the caddy...

Re: show me your seats!
Got the seats fitted today, ended up removing the bulkhead as I couldn’t get the seats back enough to be comfortable.
Such a difference from the standard seats, will make a massive difference on my 120 mile commute!
Just to give them a good clean now!

Re: show me your seats!
Hey guys, looking at doing another seat swap, does anyone know if Passat seats sit at the right height and direct bolt to touran bases?
