Just upgraded to the rns315 from a stock rcd300, it's the rns with built in Bluetooth, personally I am over the moon with it, picks up my iPhone straight away and will stream songs from my library or soundcloud etc, all contacts are synced, nav is also very good with full postcode search, just waiting for my interior light and mic to arrive so I can make calls with it, currently running v4 maps but V7 is now available

After spending hours looking at aftermarket double din units such as pioneer/kenwood with apple car play or Android auto. Kinda makes the vag units look massively overpriced for the functionality.

Not usually one to dig aftermarket stereo looks, but those pioneer/kenwood units look pretty sleek like a tablet mounted in your dashboard.

Yeah I know what you mean, I have a Kenwood in the Golf
It's just the integration I thinking about. I'm leaning towards a 510, you can pick a used up reasonably

That's what I was looking at. But there's two variety, the rcd 315 or 510 with or without dab then there's the rns 315 dab and rns 510 dab. Big price difference it's about £850 for an rns 510 dab, then you've got to buy all the add ons etc and get can bus updated. Gonna be a mega expense.

Looking at the brand new stuff coming out now, particularly apple car play and android auto is leagues ahead of oem stuff and all the add ons are much cheaper. Look at some YouTube video's, mostly American because this kit is only just hitting the UK.

Sorry to hijack thread .

I've decided to get an Rns 315 for my 12 plate caddy .

Not fussed on dab but want blue tooth with mic and would also like the reverse camera / sensor.

What sort of price would I be looking at for the above ? Also can anyone recommend an installer in the north west ?

There's plenty on eBay you should get one for about £200-£250. I'd try to get one with 7 digit postcode search
Rob at Autosound Blackpool is good for fitting, last time I was there he had a 315 on the shelf. Might be worth giving him a call

Thanks beaker !

I've chucked them an email . Do they do the reverse camera ? Heard it can be a pain to code or something . If I pick up a unit for say £250 how much do you think to fit it with reverse camera ?

Rob can fit a reverse camera, been waiting for a price for a while but not pushed as I don't have the funds. If you get a quote let me know

I've just started to look for a stereo and these 2 both have good features. i wanted a stereo with bluetooth so was looking more towards the 315 as its all built in. one question tho does the 315 pick up your phone every time you get in the van or do you have to press a button to sync it
cheers

Picks it up automatically and syncs phonebook within about 10secs.

Been quoted £780 to supply and fit Rns 315 with dab / Bluetooth and reverse cam.

This a decent price ?
