New Head Unit won't turn off?
1st thing I try changing on the Caddy and I've already got issues
Just bought a new Pioneer head unit (MVH-AV280BT) and after plugging it up the the auto leads adaptor plug the thing is constantly powered? I've tried switching the red and yellow wires but this makes no difference what so ever? Also, the EQ and Bluetooth functions are not available for some reason?
Anyone have any knowledge on this ideas of an easy fix before I end up paying someone to sort it?!
Fingers crossed!

The caddy has no 12v wire that is is switched when you turn of your car. Only a 12v constantly.
You have to connect a wire from the fuse box to your new stereo.
The original volkswagen radio's turn on and off with the canbus system.

That explains it then! Think I might get someone that knows what they're doing to sort it, I'm not a fan of electrics.
Thanks for your help.

That's what I'm after with mine, same as the original vw one behaved.
Thought I'd figured it out by using the power from the cigarette lighter as that never gets used but it turns out that's a constant live as well in the Caddy.

Yeah, used original harness with an adaptor lead.
Wish this was just plug and play!

Re: New Head Unit won't turn off?
Nope, you still need 12v from the ignition.
You can use a fuse splitter.
Search google for a auto fuse splitter.

That's brilliant, thanks very much! Looks like a straight forward job too and cheap which is always a bonus.
