They don't look familiar for the rear - they were metal and more springy I think.

That rings a bell, but on the basis of the fact that you might not break/lose any, replacements are available from stock online within a day or two, just remove the panels and see how you get on. It’s not like the van won’t start if you make a mistake give it a go... I would say some decent plastic trim tools are more important.

While I was under the bonnet I noticed the gaping holes near the wipers. Thanks to a link on here I found some right sized plugs for about a quid.

The original eBay seller appears to no longer have them, just look for 30mm rubber or plastic bungs / pipe ends.

Hi, I’ve been looking for a CF VW badge like this , where did you find this please ?

Wanted to change the rear VW roundel but wanted something other than the usual black. I investigated removal & spraying my existing one and then I found this CF one:



Badge removal again easy job with hairdryer and isopropyl alcohol.

No, I don’t think so, the grooves are there still. I think it’s because the tooling on the mould is the same for RHD & LHD and VAG can save €0.10 per unit on not filling them. Same with the engine cover to a greater extent I think. I had an E36 M3 back in the day with full toolkit and rechargeable torch in the glove compartment. When I changed for the E46 model in early 00’s the toolkit comprised of a wheel wrench & screwdriver and the torch was a £12 option. Accountants eh?

Ref the badge, it was an eBay special (non OEM), the listing has gone now but somebody else asked later in the thread and I think it’s the same diameter as the T5 so have a look on eBay for similar.

Can’t really in honesty say whether it affected the sound or not, it was purely aesthetic for me. Also a cheap upgrade if you can get the right one used, mine came from a mk7 Golf at an eBay breaker, the bolts & O ring from TPS. Just check the engine code number as they differ, plus also there’s many threads on here regarding buying a Skoda or Seat one and picking off the badge to reveal the VW one. Again, an accountant at VAG decided that the Caddy didn’t need one and saved some money.
