Cheers matey! It was the stopper on the drill that threw me! Didn't understand what was going on lol! Great idea, I might do the same!

yea its definitely needed in case the drill slips or you will damage the outer panel

if you dont have a stopper like mine you can make one by drilling a hole in a piece of timber and slipping it across the drillbit so only 8mm or so of the drill bit can poke out

the rear panels have about 15mm of space between the support panel and outer skin whilst the front panels slide door etc only have 10mm or so

So i got the rear ply floor finished today
its 9mm plywood and its now sandwiched with foil backed insulation on the underside and 4mm carpet on the outside finished off with an alloy trim strip at the side door and then where the carpet meets the rear plastic at the doors i ran a bead of black tech 7 adhesive along the joint to prevent the possibility of dirt getting in

Where did you get the floor carpet from? It looks the same as what my panels are done with and cannot for the life of me find it anywhere!

Awesome posts - this is exactly the finish I am thinking of doing in mine. Hope you don't mind me asking.
Where did you get the expanding plastic clips from?
What is the foam based foil back insulation? Does it sound deaden well?

no problem at all if its of use to someone thats great

the plastic clips are just trim clips available from halfords or ebay or amazon i got mine in halfords because its beside me

the insulation is foil backed insulation for under laminate flooring its better than the cheap white stuff and is about 7mm thick it will have some sound deadening properties and it prevents the sheet of ply from vibrating off the floor of the van also
