Cheers m8. I've now done away with my front splitter after it got ripped off in a flood. Was also getting sick of it hitting the floor all the time. However I do live in the Lakes and our roads are dreadful. So the skid plate was the next best option.

Have fun with your new Caddy

The van has probably not been looked after that well over the last year. But with adding late onto the Tatton Park VW Show it finally got a bit of TLC.
So the first thing you do after a good clean is go take a photo right :?: 8)

ok so it's slightly out of focus but I couldn't see down the lens when lying on the floor, plus cars kept coming, so was a little rushed

Also another with different colour scheme

Cheers all.
Wheels need a bit of a refurb unfortunately :(
Plus any upgrades on hold at present due to moving home and wanting to fix that up first.

@workandplay You will need the 700mm (28") rails for the draw to come out to the end of the open barn door.

For some reason my amazon account list's I got the 250mm and without thinking I shared that info. Double checked by measuring the rail in the van.

Neglected the van for a good while. So decided to do some long overdue jobs.
  • Make a cover for the top box.
  • Paint radio fascia
Top box was made with a single piece of MDF. Cut down to shape. Then, using body filler, tried to match the shape of the dash. Once satisfied I got some black leather vinyl wrap. 1st time wrapping. Not the greatest job, so will prob remove and do again at some point.

The Fascia was just a simple case of adding grey primer followed by some gloss black (Mercedes Obsidian Black, Pearlescent paint) and clear lacquer. It's actually a really nice colour black that doesn't show through on photo's.

Next job is to add the caddy life dash trims that go around the vents. These will also be painted in the same black as the fascia.

Good job on the centre infill.

Isn't hinged or just an insert?
