Thought I’d do a build thread for my new van, hopefully I’ll keep it up to date with progress.
Van on day one is a 2014 1.6TDi Trendline, Toffee brown with 40000 mile and one previous owner.
Plans are to swap the majority of parts from my white EA888 caddy and use this as a daily while I play about the the ABS/steering issues on the white one.

Yeah I’m pleased with it mate, other than two small stone chips on the bonnet it’s spotless.

Finally made a start with the new van, removed the C20 and Trendline badge. Fitted the MK4 rear lights fitted with clear lens on both sides (red LED bulb fitted for the fog light) to keep things symmetrical. Still need to do the EPROM to make them work correctly and remove the bulb error warning but I’ll sort that when it eventually goes on the road in the new year.

Starting with the tedious task of sound deadening the rear. Also removed the rear floor section ready for the rear seat mounting plates which I’ll hopefully fit next weekend, then I can start carpeting the rear out.

Rear axle and tank removed ready to weld the rear seat frames in. Some say it’s not required but I prefer to get all the seams sealed back up and plus it’s an excuse to give the underneath a good clean and waxoyl.
Frame/panel all welded in, seam sealed and painted body colour.

Cheers mate, yeah they freshen the rear up loads. Should look even better once I get the boot handle and rear spoiler back from the painters.

Belts have arrived, can’t wait to get these fitted and get this van on the road. Still a long way off that yet though.

Axle back in today and Bilstein’s fitted.
Also collected all my parts from the painters, MK7.5 GTi hybrid front, MK4 rear, Touran mirrors, A5 coupe side skirts, edition 30 side moldings, rear spoiler, rail cover and painted rear door handle. Like a kid at Christmas and couldn’t wait to build up the front bumper, just need the genuine (most expensive ever) fog lights to turn up now.
Hopefully I’ll build up the rear bumper and moldings in the morning and get them fit to the van.
(Excuse the poor photos)

Ha ha, I won’t lie I’m taking quite a bit of grief about it.
Yeah probably because it’s a bit of a marmite colour.
