Stripped down and freed off the drivers side rear handbrake calliper after it started sticking, and gave it its first wash in a few week. So I had to get some photos, as it was looking disgusting.
I prefer it so much when it’s clean, I just hate the swirls that happen as a result of cleaning.
Taking the van to Ultimate Stance show at Telford next weekend, so I’ve been pottering away over the past few weeks getting it ready. Nice sunny day today so managed to get the last bits done, and the gold wheels on. I was hoping my Rotiforms would have been done but I’m still waiting on the replacement Barrels to come.
Genuinely shocked to come away with a top 20 award today at Ultimate Stance. There were some amazing cars on show, so I’m over the moon for my daily to mix it with them, tomorrow it’ll be back to dog van duties.
Thanks to the organisers and sponsors, and a massive thanks to Dan Watts for giving me a jump start after the roof lights drained my battery, and congratulations to him for also getting a top 20 place.
Ive been seeing this van at shows for the last couple of years, first time probably 2021 at CumbriaVag I think. Just bought myself a caddy and joined the forum to then stumble across this build. Seriously impressive and so many things that you don't even notice when you see the car in a showground! hope to make a nice job of mine like you have!
Thanks very much, yeah Cumbria Vag 2021 was the first show I took the van to.
Yeah I’m a sucker for small details that people don’t/wont notice . I think that’s why I like these vans, as it takes so much work just to get them to the level of a standard car, never mind taking them further and people just think they came like that because that’s how cars are.
Good luck with yours.
Got in the van this morning to find the air tank at 0psi, found the leak to be coming from the manual valve on the watertrap, caused by a perished seal. With no spare, or anywhere local to get one I had to use a bolt in valve I had in the toolbox. Worked a treat as a temporary repair, may even just leave it on tbh.
After hitting a pothole (which felt like I’d fell off a cliff), and marking the inner lip of my passenger front wheel, I decided to put the tatty old AMG wheels on for winter. I still think they look good, well from a distance away as they are in desperate need of a refurb, but it will save ruining a clean set of wheels.
