Just got to the end of this build after a couple of weeks of reading when I had spare time, the attention to detail is amazing, great job, joined the forum today, got our first caddy on the 15th of December that’s when I stumbled upon this build and forum, I can see myself referring back to this build quite often, thanks for sharing

Thank you for taking the time to read through my build.
There will be a fair bit done on the interior this year.
And maybe something a bit different on the outside🤔

Hey mate, greetings from Czech Rep. Just had a while and read your whole build story.. Inspiring and admiring for sure! You really can be proud of your self and what you've built. I turned 20 recently, have a Scirocco for a while, but always wanted a Caddy. My dad had a 2017 model, switched for latest Skoda Yeti, because he needed a 4x4 for a work. Fell in love with the Caddy at the time, so I think it's time to buy me one as well :D :lol: Just wanted to ask, how happy you were with the 1.6? Im looking for SWB, 16+ 2.0TDi, but since there is a lot of 1.6s, maybe I should give it a try too.

Anyways, thank you for sharing your build progress with us, wishing you many miles without problems and take care!

Sorry for any errors, ENG is not my main language :lol: :lol:

@jaroslaav
Thank you for taking the time to read my build thread.
The only problem I had with my 1.6 engine was 1 injector went apart from that I found it to be a very good engine. They say the 2.0 is a better engine. I don’t know if the 1.6 mk4 caddy has the same problem as the facelift mk3🤔
There was only 61k miles on the engine when I sold it in 2021 and put the VR6 engine in.
The caddy is a 2011 so the old engine only did about 6k a year.
As for your English is fantastic.
its 1000 times better than my Czech

As you can probably see my rear seats don’t match my front ones.
So I bought these ones Image

I just need to get a couple of repairs done on them before they go in.
But they will be a very good match to the front ones.
The inside is starting to come together

You mentioned you would like to fit rear seats at tatton to me they look great and will make the van even more practical as a daily seat belts really finish it off keep up the good👍

@Sean1066

Alright, thanks :) will look around and see what will pop up in my price range, there is a lot of scissor doors around, but I’d like to get a tailgate haha. As for the engines, I too believe they are both reliable, since they are VAG. Don’t worry about your Czech, at least you know where we are, met many from US that thought we are part of Russia :?
Also, love the new seats!

Finished work early the last 2 days so I thought I would get on and start the interior.

Got the rear carpets in all the caddy life B pillars parts and the touran rear seat trims. Had to trim some of the touran pieces.

Got the rear air vents in as well
Just need to give it all a clean before I put the front seat in and wait for the rear leather ones to come back from the upholsterer’s to complete the seat conversion

@Sean1066 just been reading through your build thread. Epic build mate credit to you. That is one nice van you have yourself.

I plan on doing the rear seat conversion this summer on the hunt for a good set of seats and carpets. Did you buy weld in panels from vw or did you source from a Touran.
