Swan’s caddy build

Post by the swan fiend »

Today has been about a mod I wasn’t expecting to do, but I’m glad I did!
I saw a removable sleeping pod that @Calamity Kev had for sale and decided to buy it. I had a nice drive up to Kendal area this morning to collect it and I’m well made up with it.
Once the van is carpeted I think it’ll all look great. That’ll be a job for this winter I think.

Cheers Kev. It was good to meet you buddy ImageImage

I’ve ordered 10 meters of carpet from mega van mats today. I’ve also ordered some longer trim clips and some mesh pockets. I’ve also bought a power point for the rear with 2 usb sockets, a volt meter and a 12v plug. Next job is to get some new ply and cut better shaped side panels, then start the carpeting…..oh, and fit my aero wingmirrors. I’m going to be busy that’s for sure. May take me a while as time is never on my side!!

It’ll happen though…..the carpeting isn’t has hard as it seems. Take your time, and plan each cut to make the most of your carpet…..and the mirrors will be the icing on the cake!😂👍

Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing it done. Most of it will be carpeting the ply so I’m not expecting it to be too bad. Can’t wait to get a weekend away in it. The good thing is, the furniture it completely removable so I can still use it for carrying tents/bikes/drums etc.

Been busy today. I finally fitted my mk4 wingmirrors. Didn’t bother removing the Ariel out of the old one as it was falling to bits as I tried to move it. Don’t listen to much FM anyway and it gives me a good excuse to get a powered shark fin ariel. Image

After. Much better!

Next little job, I removed a faded Isle of Man sticker, and replaced it with one of my new prismatic C2K stickers. Received this morning, thanks Doc. ImageImage

I agree mate. I think it makes it look more modern. Not a bad job to do either. It’s a bit more finished than it was anyway

Looking good Pete!

The van looks so different from the front now you’ve changed to the colour coded mk4 mirrors!

And the camper furniture in the back… love it! And well, let’s just say I’m gutted you got in there before me!
