Look good Pete.

Keep us updated on the light output when night driving. I’ve also been in contact with these guys about a similar upgrade so some feedback would be good.

Simon.

Thanks Si. I will do that mate.

From my initial questions, to receiving the lights. I’ve had great service from EM Tuning. I know a few other lads on here have had lights from them before.

It’s been a while since I did anything to the van, but I’ve realised I have an essential modification I need to make.
I was messing in the back of the van the other day and the battery isolator triggered, this made me realise that if we were sleeping in the van with the doors locked we would be locked in.
I need to investigate if I can put some sort of manual unlock set up on the inside of the barn door.

Ideas welcome!!

I’ve also been trying to work out which one of my reverse sensors is playing up as it’s beeping almost constantly when in reverse. I’ve removed two so far and still doing it intermittently. 2 left to remove……

You've got a point there that's probably been overlooked by a lot of people sleeping in the van I for one never thought about it I was thinking with your little mod to the rear doors with the internal handle that would override it but I suppose once you lock the van from the inside with central locking even the front door handles don't work
let us know how you get on

Hi mate, hope you’re well. Yeah once I realised the implications, the thought was pretty scary!!

I’ll be getting onto it soon, it’s on my to do list. Went to Llangollen at the weekend and we slept in the van but left it unlocked.

I've done the touran door handle cable mod where you attach it to the very bottom latch and I'm still unable to open it even if it's not dead locked.. so don't know of any other solution...

Another problem to add would be if some git pushes the loklogik pin in on the back door even just a little bit you're still buggered.... and trust me it's happened....

Yeah I was thinking about looking at doing something with the bottom latch, like you I’ve also got a handle inside on the barn door. I’ll keep you updated here with any progress. So far I’m thinking of stripping the ply out, locking and unlocking the van with the key in the back door and seeing what moves, and maybe getting a pull cord or something. Till I actually look though, I’m not sure. The loklogik thing has gone through my head too!

Had the van in for its MOT yesterday. It failed on a drop link upfront so that was sorted. Also had a nail in the rear tyre which I never saw despite me checking when I lost a little pressure the other week.
Today is puncture repair and more than likely a new battery as the isolator has started kicking in for the slightest thing.

After playing about with my reverse sensors, I can’t determine which one has gone bad (it may be more than one) so I’ve just ordered 4 new ones……and a gear knob as the current one is wearing a little. Not exiting I know!

Still got to look at the unlocking the rear door from the inside issue.
