Re: Swan’s caddy build
Yeah I have a few pairs of shorts with zips on the back and I have to be careful with those.
In other news, one of my mk4 rear lights has moisture inside it so I’ve spoken to travelin lite and hopefully they will send me another one.

Thanks mate. Yeah I’m really happy with how it’s coming along. There’s more to do as always though!

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Got a few small jobs done on the van today. I wired up the rear 12v socket to the permanent live on the fuse box.
I also unblocked one of my washer jets that stopped working a few days ago, next little job was to put some heatshrink around the connections to the resistor on the off side headlight, I wanted to make sure everything was working before I did it as I’ve had issues with the scrolling indicator on the light. Since I fitted a 10 ohm resistor, all has been well.
Now I’m enjoying a Boxing Day Prosecco!!

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Not a mod as such, but something I thought I should do….having spent so much on the van, it seems silly not to spend another £140 on a disklok.

Re: Swan’s caddy build
In a further update. I ordered some Touran carpets last night in some late night (sober) eBaying.
I’ve also fitted some Novsight LED headlight bulbs. I’ve tested them in the dark this evening and they aren’t dazzling to look at. (Having aftermarket projector headlights that are correctly aligned obviously helps)
They’re a slight improvement on the halogens and hopefully there won’t be an issue come my MOT at the end of February.
My wife also bought me some rechargeable magnetic light up door sill trims (yeah, I know, not my bag either ) Anyhow, I thought I’d try doing something different with them, so I made some small 1 inch square plates out of 3mm steel, and put some sticky back Velcro on one side. They’re now in the carpeted rear. Something a tad different!
I’ve fitted one on the bulkhead and one above the rear doors. We will use them when we sleep in the van.

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Cheers Sean. They provide a nice ambiance in the back. I’ll see how long they last….they’re a Chinese special!
In other news….I bought this!
I’m going to have it re trimmed with red stitching and new leather. After that I’ll need a new SWCM, cruise stalk and stereo interface and I should be good to go.
Remap coming soon too. Exciting times!

Re: Swan’s caddy build
Cheers @ HandyAndy. I still have those seats, can’t sell the buggers! I’d happily give them away to be honest…..just don’t want them going to the tip.
Cheers lads, I’m made up with how it’s turning out…..the pace has picked up slightly this last few weeks but it won’t last, I’d like a Touran interior though……..

Nice wheel Sean
There’s a fella on Facebook called ‘MPVAG’ who will supply and fit an emulator to your column for around £250, that will enable the wheel controls to do everything…..cruise, stereo etc. The owner of Travelin lite uses him on his vans, and Audi RS6!

Swan’s caddy build
Ahh ok mate, I’ve never heard of that. I always thought the only way to get cruise working on the wheel was with a spacewalker module. I believe it translates the MQB ‘language’ of the more modern wheels with cruise to the PQ of the Caddy.
There’s no cruise on this one mate, I need to get a stalk and a new SWCM which I suspect will be about £250 also.
Then @Doc will hopefully be able to work his fitting and coding magic, and I’ll sit in the passenger seat pretending I understand what he’s doing!
Can’t wait to get it all sorted mate
