Spare wheel max size

Hi guys had an interesting one today with my ex Bg maxi. Needing my spare wheel and found some genius has used a ratchet strap to secure a spare 205/55/16 alloy wheel. The rest of my wheels are 195/65/15 steel rims no idea why there different.
So having been recovered/tyre fixed I have been an bought a genuine VW spare wheel bracket. The problem is the 205/55/16 doesn’t appear to fit. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong, what’s the max wheel size that will fit on the the bracket as I’m considering alloys.
Thanks guys

Hi mate. I’m surprised to hear that as some caddy’s do come with a 16” wheel option. I’d have thought the hangars would be all the same.
I’m running 17” wheels, and with a 45 ratio tyre, the circumference is the same as a 15” with a 65 ratio tyre.

Should fit mate, my 2013 has 205/55/16 fitted underneath, it is tight and a bit awkward to position tbh but is original

Swan, you mind me askin mate, was it your choice to run 45's on a 17 or is that what you was advised??, the reason i ask is i have factory fitted 17" wheels but im sure they aint on 45's, i thought of the top of me ed they was more like a 50 or even a 55

Does your bracket have 2 different height options, tabs at the hinge end?
Thanks

225/45 is the VW recommended size for 17” rims

@ Ghost rider. I’m actually running 225/50/17 at the moment, but I used
www.willtheyfit.com to get the info about the 45 ratio tyres. This is what I’ll swap to when I change my tyres.
As for your factory fit 17s, I’ve no idea sorry.

Gotya mate, i was only curious thats all, after doing a bit of lookin around it appears that a 50 is the factory fit size but a 45 seems to be the recommended aftermarket size, makes no odds either way its only 5mm, 45 would give a better lookin sidewall profile imo

It’s actually 11.25 mm mate. The 45 or 50 is a percentage of the wheels width, not a measurement in mm. It’s worth noting that this would make the van sit 11.25mm lower but also increase the wheel arch gap by 11.25mm also.
Again, I gleaned that from Will they fit.

Gents,
Does anybody know what is max spare wheel size that can fit Caddy 4motion SWB. I tried 205/55 R16 tyre and it can`t fit but I would like to squeeze as big tyre as possible. I am hopping maybe 16 inch low profile tyre will be able to fit. Any information will be useful. Thanks
