Hi guys,

already gave my intro in the other thread, got hold of a cheap (purchased non runner for £100, needed a ecu for total cost of £85 so £185 fully running) 2006 black caddy and decided to make it a little work van, car comes with a bst sdi engine but will transplant a bkd with 6 speed box.

so first this is how the car stands in its stock state.

caddy did not come with a radio so managed to source a replacement kenwood unit, also replaced the heater control knobs.

It has DRL fitted but were not working, checked the wiring and found the issue, this has all been done and DRLs are back on

Got some 18" vw alloys, the picture does not do them justice, however the van needs to be lowered as it just looks odd at the moment.

I’m the process of doing the bkd swap, found a few problems already wondering if you’d know anything? On the loom from the bkd there is an extra plug that runs inside the car what would I do with this as on the loom from the caddy it doesn’t have it, cheer

had some time inbetween jobs so managed to get the electric windows done. both doors sound proofed and door components fitted.

Image

we do alot of audio installs and always sound proofed using the same method. one person knock and other listen. then place the high quality sound proof in the most strategic locations.
then restest and fill the rest with the cheaper rattlematt. end result was a solid door
Image

old speakers drilled out and new ground zeros installed.

onto the electric windows. I used a proper retrofit harness. has been covered in many topics. basically pin the two male pins in the empty slot under the large earth wire and the female fuse connector into one of the empty pins in the top row of the large fuses ( constant 12v)

I used the touran door harness that came with the conversion kit.
all working but do need to get a 2 window switch and associated dark trim

will clean the van tomorrow and continue soundproofing then need to spray some light grey trims to match the dark grey. if anyone has an product recommendations then please let me know
