Quick update from the back of my Caddy

Side door panels and rear window plates carpeted and re-installed





Replacement RCD360 headunit installed


Sounds level in the cab is averaging 62dB at 50mph, real quiet and I’ve still got the engine bulk head to do.

Still to do before the money runs out/bills come in...

New wheel 16” OZ MSW 22’s with 205 tyres, this week, hopefully
Rear spoiler, next weekend now that the racing has been cancelled
Side rail, next weekend as well
Internal door handle from VW (bargain at £43), hopefully Wednesday

Then a clean, clay bar, polish and finally a wax, if and when I can get a couple of dry days.

Saturday and Sunday = MTBing with my new MTB/CX/XC van, woohoo!!!

Cheers guys, getting there, slowly!

Used it for biking for the first time a couple of days ago and it was fantastic! bike in the back, went out for a few hours, came back, connected the Worx washer, washed the bike, lubed it, popped in the back, jumped in, got changed, went home, sorted!

I'm going to run a pipe with a hose lock type connector from the water container to the rear next to the jack to save having to move the water container to the back of the van for washing my bike.

Need to decide if I'm going with hooks or a small cabinet with roller door for storing my bike kit but that's for another time after I've used the van for a bit!

The rubber floor makes a huge difference, just needed a wipe to get rid of the drips from my bike!

That sound like an ace idea with the water container, I may look into doing that to.. I use a worx washer to when racing cyclocross..

Quiet day today...

Morning spent shopping for paint and stuff for prepping and painting my rear spoiler and slide rail cover plate.

Fitted and tested the repair wires to my fuse board and labelled the wires to save me having to guess or test when I need a connection.

Then fitted a double USB charge socket into the glove box


Skidz called just as I was tidying up, my new wheels are in! Getting them fitted first thing tomorrow, woohoo

So, calipers cleaned, painted and new wheels and tyres now on (waiting on shop getting VW caps)

List is getting just a little smaller, for now!

Sliding door cover
Reversing camera
Suss out what’s required for a flip camera on rear door (long term plan)
Clay bar, scratch removal and then polish
Remap

But tomorrow is MTB me time!

You’ll need to trim a bit off the lugs on the back of the USB socket to get it to fit. Sits in pretty good, however it does occasionally pop out if you pull the USB cable out hard.. Next time I have the glove box out I’m going to have a look and see if I can modify the back of the glove box blank to allow the hooks on the socket to engage better. The glove box hole is sort of sleeved behind the blanking plug if that makes sense

I’ll probably have another look at it this week when the new wires arrive.

Cheers mate, mine has the blank missing so addition of usb sockets would tidy that up and also be handy

So, gave the spare wheel a quick clean and paint

And fitted the rear spoiler, just waiting on the tiger seal firming up a bit before removing the tape


Sliding rail cover next, just waiting on the clear coat hardening up then going to spend a bit of time with the clay bar cutting compound and polish over the coming weeks when the weather’s suitable
