I got it started. Happy days. Just need to sort the change to high fusebox now.

Brilliant!
I went with modifying my original caddy B fuse box, however, with hindsight I should have went with the fuse box from the donor car as it would have been more a case of just repinning instead of retiring and updating drawings.

Awesome. That will keep it warmer inside. Less noise as well
I was thinking about it for my side doors for when I camp in the back.

Let the build begin - Plushed VR6
Cheers guys!
Sean, I’m hoping they’ll make the cabin a little quieter, still to try them along the motorway
Straight forward to fit, the seal comes with a strip of 3m tape attached for applying.

That's a really good effect mode those door seals.
Thanks @ C Chris. I will look into these for my caddy. Does sound rather tinny when closing these doors

Re: Let the build begin - Plushed VR6
Finally bought a genuine side door rail with the extra clip to hold the rail cover in place.
Also repainted the cover as the previous paint had cracked and shrunk quite badly. First time using 2-pack paint, match is pretty good, however, I think I’ll get the panel scanned next time to get the shade tweaked a little.
Needs a little finishing to improve the surface
Additional clip, was it worth it, probably not, however it was annoying me that I’d stuck that part on with foam tape
Original as fitted(left) new VW OEM rail including additional clip to fit.
New VW top, bottom and middle hinges/rollers on order just to make it 100%

Team Heko got a bit of bash the other week, too close to another car, mirror smashed the deflector…
Out with the old, in with the new…

Replacement hinges for the side door, bottom one was a little worn out… only 3 years old! Downside of buying not so good parts because of limited availability!

Re: Let the build begin - Plushed VR6
It’s been a while….
Hit a boulder coming back from cyclocross, ouch!
Buckled front drivers wheel : £250 to repair
Burst R32 sill : still to repair as replacement is £180
Burst the exhaust, temporary repair done, new section £39
Snapped the drivers side ABS wiring : £1 from scrapyard to repair
Damaged the front wheel bearing : £50 for new SKF from autodoc
Impact also cracked my previously chip repaired windscreen! : £100 excess and they fitted one with a RLS bracket
And an MOT, passed, no advisories, yay!
It’s been an interesting couple of weeks for sure!
And I replaced the lower catch on my sliding door, the pleasure of not being hit by the door closing on its own should not be underestimated need to kill the rust though (previous bottom roller failure)

Decent thread, just been sat here for the last hour reading through my list of upgrades has definitely become longer and payday quickly become dust in my wallet.

Re: Let the build begin - Plushed VR6
What’s your plan for killing the rust that’s formed in the sliding door channel?
The rust on my van is really bad in that spot, have seen some guys fit a small strip of plate in to stop it happening
