Thought it was about time to introduce my latest project. This time, my first van! A Volkswagen Caddy.
I currently own a MK7 Oryx White Golf R. I had a little seat arosa s as a second car for around a year which I then sold to a friend for what I paid for it back in September when I bought the Caddy.
I work as a Wholetime Firefighter and back in September trained as a Locksmith to start a business to do in my spare time. I wanted a van for my tools and also because of the practicality of them. A volkswagen caddy was always at the top of the list, so I got looking on the usual sites and found this van only 10 miles from home so arranged a viewing and test drive and subsequently made an offer which was accepted.

The same was repeated on the passenger side.
The previous owner had put ply lined covers on the barn doors on the back which were looking a little tatty.

As the caddy has the back windows covered the previous owner had tilted the mirror to try and hide it.

As my commute is 23 miles each way to work and I figured I will be spending some time in the van going to jobs I wanted to improve the interior and make it a little more comfortable.

The caddy came with rubber matting for the floors, they look nice when they are clean and are very functional however the work I do is not that dirty so again wanted the van to feel a little more comfortable inside so decided to swap them out for a set of Touran front carpets. These are a direct fit like most parts and make the cabin a little nicer and also warmer.

The next part of the puzzle was to swap the rubber steering wheel for a leather one and seen as though the GTI one was a direct fit I thought why not!

Touran Midline Clocks and Cruise Control
One thing that I thought that the caddy was missing was cruise control. My journey to works involves lots of 50mph roads so cruise control in my opinion is a must. I got in touch with Guy at midlands coding, he came out to me and fitted Touran midline clocks, cruise control and an mfd stalk so I can see, water temperature, mpg, distance to empty and a trip computer. A great guy and very knowledgable in what he does.
