Re: 2006 1.9 TDI Volkswagen Caddy
Another delivery today so cracked on putting the headlights back together.

Bulbs back in

Only thing I need now is a set of silver indicators, will leave them overnight while i'm on nights tonight and then go over them with some more tigerseal before fitting them.

Re: 2006 1.9 TDI Volkswagen Caddy
Hello mate nice build, I was hoping to pick your brain I’ve just fitted touran electric window motors and door cards and ran the extra power supply needed and the drivers door all works fine but the passenger door doesn’t lock or does the electric window switch work but does work when operated from the drivers door??? Any help would be much appreciated

Great work on the van mate and the lights look fantastic
really like the colour too not something you see everyday.. Mind me asking how much work is actually involved in spliting the headlights as I might try this myself?

Re: 2006 1.9 TDI Volkswagen Caddy
Thanks mate, if you have the original caddy 3 pod headlights then the are really easy. Take all the bulbs and headlight leveller out, then put them in the oven at aorund 100 for around 10 minutes, screwdriver and hammer around the edges to access the existing glue then use a stanley knife to cut it, then just prize them open. It's the same process with the touran 4 pods however they seem to be built slightly different and were a bit harder work to separate but not the worst job in the world.

Enjoyed the read so far, great job on the van and documenting the build with all the pics. I always forget to take pics before I start nevermind during a job.
I'm torn between doing the headlights, do you think it would be possible with a heat gun or does the oven do a better job of spreading the heat?

Thank you, I would say to do them in the oven, when I was looking most people use that method. If you've got the three pods, they are really easy to do. Less than 20 minutes to get get the lenses off

Great looking van and I'm loving the headlights!
Aside from personal taste, is there anything to stop one using a colour other than black? (as in regulations?) I'd have been tempted to paint them the same colour as the bodywork.

Great build thread! Giving me lots of ideas and adding to my plans for my Caddy. Really like the headlights, love how much attention to detail there is! And the before and after cleaning pictures make it worth while looks so much better after! Good work!!

Just been through the thread and wow! the detail you've gone into. The interior looks top, I could never see the Scirocco wheels working on a Caddy, well, they look amazing!
