Finally got the bonnet resprayed and the sliding door rail it's taken a while the original lad that was going to do it just seemed to make more excuses every time I spoke to him so found another local company who done an excellent job with a reasonable price. So hopefully this weekend I will get the rail fitted ImageImageImageImageImage

Just got the side rail fitted I think it finishes it off nicely no to give it a good clean inside and out after a busy week in work carrying plasterboard and plastering the dust and mess from it is unbelievable Image

@albieD I suppose they are not that expensive I got mine from TPS and sent it to my local paint shop to have it sprayed while he was doing the bonnet

Once I've decided exactly how I want it in the back I will take that lot out and replace it with the same design and measurements but in a light weight ply you see in other campers outside the van I'd like to fit the r32 style exhaust but only when my back box has gone I don't like waste other than that I'm not sure it depends on what I see on here and think I wouldn't mind doing that 🤣🤣

Not exactly a modification at the moment more a necessity after damaging the sump from a lump of metal in middle of road I thought a new sump would of sorted the problem but the damage was crankshaft as well signs of the crankshaft shells on top of the baffle plate just below the crank after I took it apart for the 2nd time
Now to source a replacement engine ImageImageImage

Replacement found courtesy of @hef he had a replacement 1.6tdi going spare which I bought off him which had head damage
so now whizz my engine out strip it down this wasn't as easy as I thought the biggest problem I found was disconnecting all the electrical plugs and working out how to unclip them without breaking them but engine is now out thank god not bad for a novice with the brother in law showing me how to do it except he couldn't touch anything oily as he'd just had operation on his hands he must have been pulling his hair out with me not a bad days work from picking up engine from hef's in the morning and taking mine out in the afternoon

Lovely build, really amazing what a difference the sliding rail makes, kind of finishes the van off!

Bad news on the engine mate, but good to see you’re getting stuck in.
