Replace x3 leaf spring body plugs due to one missing, part number is superseded, I'll pop the new one in useful part numbers.

Dragged myself out of bed mid morning (worked last night), fitted my Gaz dampers I recently purchased, ceramic coated them as I had some Gyeon Rims left over from coating my wheels plus fitted rear oem discs + pads.

Painted the rear discs using TechniQ VHT paint, will paint the rear calipers when I upgrade the front brakes.ImageImage

Contuined with the full service today, picked up filters/oil/sump plug from TPS (Bishop Stortford) Top lads to deal with, gave out a 45% discount code on service parts.
2,800 miles between services  Didn't realise it was this low until I checked the service book.

Gave her a run out this morning after fitting the rear dampers (as per Vw instructions) all seems good so far, definitely an improvement over the standard (worn) oem dampers :D .

Did you notice any difference in ride height at the rear after fitting the shocks? I want to get a set to try and stop the rear wallowing around so much but I'm wondering if the shorter shock will cause the rear to sit lower?

If dampers change the ride height even just a tiny bit, they are faulty.
They are there to dampen the bounce of the spring, not to support or supplement the spring.

Hi @sendgineer

No difference in height (that's down to spring position in the adjustable shackles).

Nice improvement stiffening up the rear, have a Whiteline ARB on the shopping list as these them to also help tighting up the rear end.

Nice work on this mate, looking fresh as a daisy!

coupla questions if you don't mind, to aid me in my build...

the wheels 8.5j et45 with 235/35? what brand tyres?

the mirrors genuine or reps? if reps, which ones?

Hi mate,

Sorry for the late reply, wheels are 19x8.5 ET45 with 235/35 tyres (unbranded at the moment).

Mirrors are genuine bases, covers with aftermarket glass.

Nice build dude. How much did the carpets cost you ? Planning on doing the same to mine and also painting the light trims on the pillars in the cab to black 👍🏼
