Soooo toyed with the idea of a caddy for practical reasons for years and last year pulled the trigger on a 2016 2.0 tdi caddy with the usual colour coded bumpers, side bars and alloy wheels. I originally intended for it to be for a bit of work and fishing but leaving it fairly standard. Having a few show type cars in the past I’d gotten carried away


so I settled on some coilovers and mfsw to start with.




I’d previously been at shows regular throughout the years and got a bit bored of it so I thought I was done. fast forward to the last 2-3 months and with some bad influencing friends I caught the bug again to get into going to shows and as a result thought why not change the van abit to scratch the itch.



Private reg went on, new wheels, bags, caddy life mirrors and I thought ahh that’ll do for now won’t it ?

I drove down to Northampton then London last week for new bumpers, touran carpets and a set of recaro cs seats trimmed in red leather from a clip sport, the headrest has Renault sport embossed into it but that’s easy sorted with a bit of retrimming as I got the rest of the interior too for spare material. picked the bumpers up from paint yesterday so they’ll be on this week, installed the seats and carpets on Saturday. Slowly coming together now but still a few more bits to go.

Got the bumpers and side skirts on today, mirror caps are getting painted now as I completely forgot I had them to do so missed the booth when the bumpers were done. Starting to think I may need to move to 19” wheels next though

They are the ‘r32 look’ abs skirts, pretty sure from eBay mate. Decent fit with a bit of sealant and the 2 end screws from the arch liners.

Took a look down to VWFestival at the weekend. Other than not being able to hide from the fire in the sky it was an awesome weekend as always and good to see it full after it not running during the pandemic. Few rolling shots on the way down below as I went the whole weekend looking at everything else and not taking any pictures of mine

There was mine and high roller decorators 2k’s on the show and shine area with a couple of mk1 caddy pickups, then a few on the club/the trade stands as I recall. A lot of interest which I’d not expected with the amount of cars there.
