The KRS pd150 build

Post by Kye@KRS »

Hi thought I’d start a build thread on my caddy.

Started its life with a bls engine in. Then I bought it with the pd150 from a golf already in it.
I added a mk4 golf 6 speed gearbox.
I’ve also added a hybrid turbo, s3 cooler and hard pipe kit.

The person who done the engine left the air con out and I am in the process of putting it back in due to the aux belt “flapping” on its longest run between the alternator and power steering pump causing it to catch on the bottom rad hose!
I’ve installed a new air con pump and condenser with the correct aux belt only to find that the bottom rad hose. I popped round to my local parts shop and found a radiator with both the bottom and top rad hose connectors on the gearbox side so installed that to get round the problem. I also bought a mk4 golf bottom rad hose.

The next obstacle I have to overcome is the hose between pump and condenser…. As I’m running the s3 cooler the pipe for the air con fouls on the inlet for the intercooler. Luckily a good friend of mine is a great fabricator. He’s going to change where the pipe comes off the connector for me.
Just waiting for him to get back off holiday.

I’ve also added a touran facelift front end.
I have the electric windows and mirrors left to install but I’m struggling to find someone that sells a plug and play live wire or anywhere that sells the terminals for me to make the wires myself.

Will update more as it happens.

All of this was done before joining here mate.
Do you know of anywhere/anyone that sells the live wire needed for the windows?

I don't mate sorry, however I'm sure I've read previous posts on here that a few owners make the required wiring looms for these vans.
Hopefully if they read your thread they may reach out to you.
