57. Spliced Leisure Battery Changeover feed into BCM interior light feed. Interior lights now work at anytime from aux battery and don't switch off at the whim of the BCM. Added On-Off-On change-over switch so that boot area light can be switched on with lid closed (also from aux batt option as well).

Loving the build I'm currently planning on converting my mk3 maxi WAV so will be following this thread

Decided to remove the LHS rear arch cover and make a new bed position at the rear.

Photos in reverse order (typical).

Removed cover then tidied up the wiring (a bit).

Work out where to put everything ???

Do some carpeting...
Fit some M8 rivnuts.

Make a cover board - Start fitting things.

2 days already

Finished the side work.

Just need to make a new bed box ...

Started the Storage/Bed Box ...

Functionally finished.

Have to paint and edge things, and cut ventilation holes.

I'm In the process of fitting heated seats In my mk4 wav. I can get the blowers to work with my new panel. Did you have trouble with this also?

There is a Live feed needed extra to those as provided before.
Had to splice in an Ign switched feed, if I remember rightly ?
I discussed it somewhere ...

- 3C8 907 336AE - Heated seats and 4 Buttons inc. Heated Rear Screen and Aux. Heater.

Both work, but in my case only after some extra wiring.
My Caddy has an extra Black wire that feeds a relay to switch on power to the fan control.
I added an IGN-Switched Live and spliced to the black wire.
I also added a diode in the black wire, and another in the extra feed, to prevent any back feeds if an original panel were ever to be refitted !

Seems to be working a treat.
Thanks for all the help and info from this thread and elsewhere.

Thank you very much. Still waiting to be approved for forum rights. I tried this the weekend. I spliced into the feed for my pioneer head unit which is powered via am ign live but still had no joy.

I used a strand of 1.5mm twin & earth. So that could have had something to do with it. The black cable your splicing into is in 20 pin plug in slot 2 isn't it?

Yes, that's it.

20 Pin Connector - Pin 2 Black Wire
T20c/2 - +VE with IGN-ON (drops to 0V after 7 seconds from IGN-OFF - Relay Clicks)

I'll have to try again at some point, getting really frustrated with it now.

Do you happen to remeber what amp/size cable you used? Did you use a scotchlok connector or?

I soldered the new wire to the Black wire.
I also added a diode in the Black wire to prevent back feeding into the panel (should not be needed unless reverting to original panel) and have a similar diode to prevent flow from the panel to the fuse box, also probably not necessary !

Don't need much of a guage as only to throw the relay. I overdid it and used about 10A if I remember (which I don't really).
