Aftermarket virtual dash display

So I’ve made a few posts and asked a few questions about retrofitting a virtual dash recently, I bit the bullet and purchased one to try it out and this is my feedback.
So to start off, I knew people had fitted Scirocco dashes so fitment wasn’t an issue. I’d seen aftermarket versions for the MK6 Golf and VW Scirocco based on the factory Mk7.5 Golf virtual cockpits so that was the obvious choice to go for.
Now I paid around £560 with postage and it came with a small import tax bill. Took around five days total with Fedex so that was good. I purchased it from Aliexpress here:

They do different versions for different prices if you think a Tiguan would work better for example.
Fitment is very easy and took around 10 minutes. This isn’t a “How To” but you basically remove 4 small torx screws, pull a few plastic tabs apart, split open your standard dash, remove the needles and fascia display, middle screen and then put that inside the nee virtual dash. It comes with a harness to plug into the standard dash and the nee virtual dash keeping your mileage and immobiliser etc, simple plug and play.
Quick test fit was successful
Made a template of the original dash so it was a perfect fit. This is the WRONG thing to do as it sits at a slightly different angle so needs to be wider at the bottom edges, the shape of the top needs to match the original through.
There’s loads of features, layouts and options so I’ll show a few below. The funny blue / green screen on the left is the connection Instructions for your phone to mirror and display the screen, I couldn’t do that and take the picture at the same time.
Sport setting with large mph and Speedo in the middle, screen to the left and right are both adjustable.
Eco mode
Bluetooth screen (it says not connected when it is, first glitch it seems)
Audio works fine, displays everything from the discovery media I have fitted, shows radio stations, CD, Bluetooth etc…
How I have mine set most of the time with the large MPH in the middle with standard gauges either side.

Brief photo I took with the active cruise control and distance display, kinda cool!
The cruise control works and displays like factory showing the cruise speed on the bottom right and highlights green when used and white or - - when not. It also displays the headlight switch position which I really like and didn’t expect.
It’s a poor photo but I took it on my friends phone, just showing how you can watch TV, YouTube etc and display it full screen (it’s HD) so works well, it can be displayed smaller in the middle with the gauges still in show but has three size options which is really nice. I’ll use this quite frequently for displaying satnav maps and directions. (Note is still shows speed and other details bottom right)
So overall I’m very happy with the purchase and does everything I’d want plus more. but it’s not without its drawbacks.
- These are listed for petrol models not diesel and I have a 2.0 TDI. Because of this they don’t display add-blue, I’ll have to just keep it topped up regularly, not that it uses much.
- Bluetooth display says it’s not connected, when it is, I’ve never used the dash display for phone anyway as it displays through the discovery media headunit but it’s a glitch none the less
- MPG isn’t correct as it’s coded for a petrol, I’ll know more as I drive but “miles till empty” is roughly double what it was before.
- Its from a Scirocco so when you open the doors it displays a Scirocco, sliding door shows as a rear door, back door shows as boot open, bonnet and front work fine as expected.
Hope this helps people decide if they want one or not and I’ll be updating with more photos when I’m using it regularly and let people know if I find more glitches or issues!

what glitches have been fixed since the first one? Have you got the diesel one now?
