I managed to get a good deal on a set of pre owned R front calipers in black.
These really were in great condition tbh.
Front discs and pads ordered from autodoc, for once I found someone cheaper than LLL parts.
Awaiting the arrival of my dust shields now.
Will say that if I had done my research a bit more thoroughly, I could have bought theses calipers new from autodoc for the same price that some are selling for on ebay.
The only thing I struggled to find was the TRW part number for the carrier. Should of taken a pic of mine before fitting.

Anyway here are the part numbers for these calipers, brake discs and dust shields. If you use the TRW part numbers, you will save a small fortune than going through vw, tps or LLL parts.
Carriers are the only the part that costs more than the calipers if buying new, as I only have the vag part number and you will pay vw audi tax.

Everything bolted up perfectly. Do not need longer brake lines.
I just needed 6 new dust shield fixing bolts.
Pads are supplied with new m8 caliper to carrier sliding mount bolts.

Re bleed of the system and everything is spot on.
Bonus I've now eliminated that annoying rattle from the front.
Correctly diagnosed by the mechanic from last weeks poly bush install, that found the retaining spring on my previous calipers had a bit to much play and both parts of the calipers would rattle against each other when driving along and suddenly hitting cracks and deviations in the road.

Part numbers are for the black painted ones.

Calipers
TRW BHQ921E right
TRW BHQ920 E left

Carriers
8V0615126B right
8V0615125B left

Discs
TRW DF6133S 340mm 30mm Black paint

Pads
TRW GDB2114 with wear sensors

Dustsheilds are from the mk5 golf platform as the newer ones from the mk7 look completely different in design and fixing hole positions. Also the hub set up on this platform looks slightly different to that of the caddys.
These are for the 345mm discs. I've ordered some febi ones, same I had on my last caddy. Don't see why they won't fit.

Part numbers
1K0615312C right
1K0615311C left

Now a visit to the garage to get the tyres some air Image Image

The latest update to the van, some mist jet nozzle frontscreen washers.
This was a common mod on the audi scene to replace the dreadful 3way jets that came on these vehicles.
I nice and easy mod that keeps the water on the screen and not squirts it everywhere else other than this, no matter how much adjustments were madeImage
These are the non heated variants.Image

Adwano, thanks for the compliment mate.
It is still kept stock in the cab so makes the dirty trips easier to clean.

Use mine as my daily commuter and made myself a little scaffold board ramp to load and unload my home converted power barrow. Makes it so much easier to get down the lakes on limited time when it’s that easy to get the gear loaded! Enjoyed reading your build and looking forward to delving into the TFSI swap on mine in the future!

Thanks kieron, I use a fold up motor cross ramp to get my barrow straight in the back

This is the best/neatest solution by far, something I’ll be investing in when the van develops abit in the future.

The scaffold board ramp isn’t worthy of a picture Stu, it is literally a doubled up length of board that I’ve screwed a little offcut piece onto one end that jams into the door latch so it doesn’t slip. It’s a bodge but it works. The solution above is much better ImageImage

You do what you need to do kieron with funds available etc matey. I've seen a few do the scaffold board trick and it works fine.
I paid about £20 for my one off of ebay.
I place a towel under the ramp were it would sit over the bumper just to protect thus area.
The obvious thing would be to fit a bumper cover protector but I think they look awful.

Hi stu, I'll be over one of my fishing lakes later on today. I'll ping up a picture of the ramp prior to me getting my barrow out mate.

Very Nice Dan… I’ve just picked up a Maxi with a wheel chair ramp in .. My Big Boy Porter the tyres are about 2” too wide to go in where the wheel chair would sit but my normal mk2 Porter goes in perfect with the rear seats dropped… looking forward to filling it up Sunday for a trip down the syndi!
Where do you fish?
