a/c always showing on?
i don't know if this has been covered at some other point, but basically the a/c button constantly has the orange light suggesting it's on, no matter how many times it's pressed, it's always on. a/c does need re-gassed though, just not sure if this is the problem? any help appreciated.

As soon as you turn the temp to be at the lowest cool setting it will automatically put the AC on, is that perhaps what's happening? Just press the button and it will go off

Or if it's set to defrost the windscreen it may turn on the AC automatically, so it works properly?

even if the temp is set high, it stays on. i mostly have it set to heat the footwell (at the minute anyways) and pressing the button doesn't turn it off

Any faults showing in a scan?
I'd try swapping the panel for a known working one.

Almost a year on (why am I like this ) and I’ve just replaced the panel and it’s all good now, so must have just been a fault in there somewhere.
