Two Tone Caddy like a transporter

Post by Moon Man Caddy »

Hello Everyone.

I love the two tone paint/vinyl you get on transporters.

Has anyone ever done this on a caddy. pictures please if you have.

When I got the windows tinted the other day the guy that did it does vinyl wraps and when i asked him about it he said that it is because the transporter has a natural crease but that is not to say that you cant follow the crease on the front doors and then follow to the back light.

What are peoples thoughts on this.

Not mine, just scrolled through 10 pages of a build thread to find this but it's the only one I know of/have seen. Image

Without that clearly defined crease that the Transporter has where you lose the join, personally think it will look a bit out of place. The Caddy also has a weird set of conflicting lines that means instead of a nice straight edge it will have a curve to it.

I knocked this up in photoshop to show the issue

I'm also considering a two tone wrap mainly to hide poor paintwork of an old 280k miles ex taxi maxi life I've just bought. it will allow me to fill dents etc and cover with the wrap, the top half of the van is pretty good nick so was considering a bronze/copper lower with dark grey metallic original top half. But like you i have struggled to find any examples

Personally I don't think it suits the caddy at all, I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

I absolutley love the 2 tone on transporters but agree it just doesnt suit the caddy. Its slightly better on the Mk5 but still doesnt look quite right.
