Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Start with the coding from the original module in the new module, then edit to add MFSW and cruise control.

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Hiya. I did mate it didn’t work.
It’s just a thought but wiring loom for airbag needs repinning? Maybe pins in wrong places? Like on my original one I’ve got blue/white and new loom that came with steering wheel there’s grey in there. Also what I thought of it could be trying to pull out ribbon out of my original one (BB) and put it on the new (L) one. I soldered the broken ribbon but never know it’s so flimsy it could have a loose connection?

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
What was the reason for going for the coding you have in the new SWCM, what did you base this on if not the original with the changes I described?
I don't have a table to decipher each byte so cannot say what coding you have in there or whether it is correct or not.
Airbag harness looks correct, blue/white is the horn, grey is LIN to MFSW module. On MFSW, the blue/white is to the MFSW module rather than directly back to SWCM.

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Hi again Doc
To be honest I don’t think I’ve changed coding, but what I’ve noticed was different van number and different coding after I’ve changed slip ring Is it poss for the coding to change itself by changing slipring? Sorry if that’s a dumb question. Steering wheel is from a polo or at least that’s how it was advertised and airbag is my original caddy. Pics below might help to solve this mystery. Maybe something is not compatible with the rest of it.

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
If swcm is ok, It might not work in VW because is from Audi.
And could be-it not corresponding with vw mfsw

Hi mate.
How can I check if it’s from an Audi or vw? It says vw on stickers

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Audi swcm modules work fine in VW, I’ve used plenty.
I did a caddy on Monday with those same buttons, and cruise via stalk. I used an E module from a 2012 Leon

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Hi mate. My original module was BB. According to rosstech website BB module does have a steering angle sensor where E doesn’t have it. I’m proper getting confused now

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Ignore steering angle sensor. You have g85 in the rack so will always be coded without it active on the swcm

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
My caddy is dsg. Is E module will work with it? It says on rosstech website something about E only works with kessy and doesn’t support coding for auto box ?? Cheers

Re: Mk4 mfsw retrofit help
Forgot to mention there was no coding needed by the looks of it I’ve just plugged it all in and it’s all working as it should. Is there anything I should do or change or just don’t fix it if it ain’t broken?
