Hi, it’s connected to the ground terminal that touches the metal housing of the socket. It’s a bit awkward to get to.

No it’s awkward alright I dismantled the whole thing so I could get access a bit easier. You could always solder it to the outside of the cig housing too

Most probably there is someone over here who can help me.

Ive installed a small led strip near the foot wells, and want to have them white with doors open, and red when driving at night.

I wired them as follow;

Positive white led; White BCM connector pin 43
Negative white led; Brown BCM connector pin 10
Negative red led; Brown BCM connector pin 10
Positive red led; blue/grey wire in the light switch connector.

The white leds work as they should, but the red leds also go out with the white leds.
I guess this has to do with the negative current from pin 10 also turns off when the doors close. I think I can fix this by adding an additional negative wire for the red led.

But, I also see other people having these lights with only 3 cables connected.

Am I missing something here?

Hi Guys

I'm trying to install some footwell lights to my MK4 Caddy. I've found the CCM and taken the middle plug out but there is cable already occupying pin 50 where I thought the footwell lights should go? Am I missing something?

Cheers

These light upgrades look superb! Nicely done 👌🏼
Problem is they’re dangerously encouraging for a new Caddy owner like me! 😆

VW may offer specific holders or brackets for footwell lights, but it's best to check with a dealership or online parts store for compatible accessories. Finding a flat location under the dash can be tricky, but explore the existing mounting points or use adhesive-backed holders for a clean installation.
