Just another camper build

So I figured it was about time I put a bit more in to the forum rather than just scroll through everyone else’s build.
The missus and I decided that we’d like to do a lil camper for holidaying in around the uk and after helping our friend do his caddy, we decided to get one ourselves. Cue the hours spent trawling though the usual suspects for a van before stumbling across this lil gem at £4500 & 83k miles. snapped up last july the day after finding it.

Looks and sounds like the start of a new build thread

The Caddy looks to be in good nick so you've got a good start & base to work with
Have you started / completed any mods yet ?

Nice. Looks like we have very similar starting points.

Cheers stu. Yeah, the windows are in, sound deadening, insulation, carpeting all done. Still lots to do!

Will post more as I go through the gallery of what I have!

As with pretty much all the builds, it all started with a good clean and taking out things that I didn’t think I’d need (and thankfully keeping things I thought were unnecessary!) so went from this

To this

And then this

In the few days last summer where I wasn’t a pool of sweat after work.

Keep an eye on my build when it gets started as I think it will be too much for me as I will be dailying it. So might switch to roof bars.

In between the deadening and carpeting, got the windows in. Due to the lack of balls on my side, got my friend to cut out the bits on the door, but then managed to do the rest and was pretty proud of them!

Got a few free moments over the bank holiday, so got most of the panelling on the ceiling done, hoping to get the electrics all wired up on Wednesday and then get started on building some shelves and a bed!

Was good to have a weekend off doing bits and pieces to the van. Spent a few minutes on Saturday trying to sort out the drivers sun visor clip. I’d ordered a cheap, cheerful knock off one to replace it and shock horror it broke at the first use.
Also got a bit of time time in between downpours to do a bit of spraying, and thought I did an alright job for my first time
