I noticed the lower engine mount / subframe bush / dog bone bush / whatever else it may be called had a lot of cracks in it when I was under the van investigating after experiencing some knocking and engine slop and I wanted to replace it along with other engine mounts. My initial plan was to buy a second hand steel subframe to fit a new bush too then simply swap it over but when I saw the price of alloy subframes I got carried away. I now have a caddy alloy subframe with B6 Passat alloy arms and golf mk5 rear bushes (these are different to the Passat rear bushes as I discovered) along with new subframe bush and poly bushed arms. The subframe bush was a bitch of a job and after a few hours of trying different methods, presses, and running out of swear words, I broke the bush. Bought a new bush and the cheapest tool on ebay after looking at others and the bush went in easy in 20 minutes or less. I used a bottom bracket press for a bike with a load of spacers and washers to fit the poly bushes to the passat console bushes so I was very pleased that my new cheap-O tool worked to refit the bushes to the golf console without any hackery, reckon it's paid for itself now and I'll probably modify it when I poly bush the leaf springs down the line to eek every bit of worth out of it. And before I'm called out I do have new bolts for the subframe and everything else associated with it. Now waiting until some time off in March to get this lot fitted ImageImageImage

Visited a friend who'd decided to crash his Polo and got a few little bits off it before it went to scrap heap heaven. Wheel bolt covers, wiper nut caps, shock top mount caps, and a trim nut I've been missing. But the most satisfying of all was the plugs to fill the seat height adjustment handle ImageImageImage

Made my caddy seat bases look better with some self adhesive carpet. No touran bases here ImageImage
