You can swap the foils but you’ll need to rescale the cluster and set it for petrol.

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
So it’s been a while since I’ve been on! Anyone in the motor trade will know that it’s that 6 Month period of MOT madness (thanks covid) so times been limited…. However I’ve pressed on and coming close to finishing the wiring now!!
finally managed to get Communication with all the modules (except transmission) not yet fully installed the wiring gearbox side
A few errors but nothing too sinister……. yet!

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
It doesn’t crank at the key yet as it’s still looking for a clutch pedal input….
Im assuming once I’ve removed this and fully installed the DSG wiring this will go away! Can’t seem to find any coding regarding this??

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
But it DOES START if I bridge the starter. So I’m definitely on the right lines. Not ran for more than a few seconds as I haven’t got the radiator installed yet

Selector loom installed

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
If it's like my R32 Touran, the J519 Onboard Supply will need coding to AUTO, and there is a wire that is earthed for manual and connected to the trans for auto.
I went the other way, so had to set it up for manual.

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
Yea would like to go manual but gearboxes prices are tru the roof atm and not many for sale.
I do have a vr6 5 speed box with diesel 5th gear for better highway cruising I don't think I will fit this box tho.can get my hands on a dsg box from mk1 3.2 audi tt do you know if this will suit my 08 bub v6 engine?

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
@NZDubNurd - thanks for the info, I had a brief look at the coding tonight but can’t see anything in J519 for coding to auto/DSG. Maybe mines different. Just having a look through the wiring diagrams to piece together! I’m not a massive fan of the early DSG boxes to be honest. But fancied the challenge of converting to auto. Also the wife only has automatic entitlement on her driving licence so would be handy if she can drive it

Re: 3.2 v6 DSG conversion
@Damo as for the wiring for the DSG it doesn’t seem to bad in the scheme of the whole job. It’s a hell of a lot of work to do it properly as people on here warned me. Also it was my first time integrating two different vehicles so took a bit longer getting my head around it. I also started with the caddy low fuse box but I found it was turning out to be more work than just fitting a high box from an Audi and integrating the van electrics rather than integrating the engine electronics into the van if that makes sense, I’m sure someone knows more about this than I do but I think you need an ECU that is from a DSG car as from what I’ve researched, although the coding is in the ecu to select DSG it doesn’t have the data set but apparently you can switch DSG to manual.
