Fuel tank I’ve gone for a 60litre fuel cell for the time being. Il probably get a custom tank in the near future but this will get me running. I’ve managed to keep the Evap system in place and fit the Vw sender unit not my usual oem thing I know but as said it will get me up and running until I can get a custom tank made.

Things left to do
- refit haldex and subframe etc
- brake pipes
- wiring for haldex
- possibly change ABS module if it doesn’t like the haldex
- 4 wheel alignment
- exhaust
- and everything else I’ve forgot

Well after a bit of tweaking I don’t recon we are far off.. that’s a relief Image il run it up and down the road a few times and do it again after it’s all settled but overall a bloody good result.

Things left to do

- Propshaft rubbing slightly on heat shield

- Haldex wiring

- fuel gauge not working, must of f’d something when I done the sender

- abs sensor wiring for rear

- maybe a change of ABS Pump if this one doesn’t work with the haldex. I have a Tiguan I’m breaking for parts at the minute so will try that one if needed

-coding for haldex.

- fit seats back in

Pineapple1984 fair play mate it’s looking mint now, so much time and effort has been put into this from what I’ve seen from your posts and considering the amount of cutting, welding and re-jigging the trackings not a million miles out so that’s good going. I’d love to have the time to do this as one thing that annoys me on the caddy is the rear suspension set up is pony would feel so much better being like this. Won’t be long then until you’ve got it on the road full time, hats off to you mate

@Azz03 - Thanks for the kind words mate. It really is a shed load of work. More than I thought it would be actually. Changing the engine was a walk in the park compared to this ha ha. Shrek and I was saying how I’m not sure you could put a price on it. Even drilling the a3 legs off of the floor pan and getting them prepped took bloody hours. Like you the rear leafs really let the caddy down if you’re using it for anything more than a work van. We have actually acquired another caddy that shrek is going to build. I love the OEM look of the A3 chassis but it’s soooo
Much work He’s going to try and design a much simpler design for the rear multi link using the original front hangers from the leaf springs so stay tuned for that.
