1.6 TDi wont start

Great start to the year!

It's making a weird noise, it's not the solenoid/bad battery although I have tried changing it.

It's making an electrical type noise and not turning over at all when I try the ignition, it has given me no indication there was a problem until now. I did a 200-mile trip yesterday and it didn't give me any trouble.

Also, I tried moving the fan belt but it's not moving at all, so it suggests it's hydrolocked... maybe a bad injector?

Check your battery voltage while trying to crank, if it's dipping but the engine is not turning at all then try again after removing the glow plugs. If it turns with the glow plugs removed, you'll soon see what's been ejected and from which cylinder.

Sorry for the slow update, it ended up being two things to fix.

The starter was busted and some cowboy mechanic had put the fuel system back together without the correct fitting kit.

So she starts and does leak fuel anymore!
