No Worries, glad you managed to get it fitted! Looks like a good fan, tempted to fit one to mine rather than retrofit a fan into the existing vent

Thanks Stu!

Progress has slowed a bit but I have had some cushions upholstered and am staying in the van 4 days a week at the moment.

Does anyone know how to get the speed limiter off of the Mk4? It's a 2.0 TDI. Can't seem to find a definitive answer on how to do it!

Love the build, very similar to my plans for my 66 plate BG!

Regarding the limiter - it has to be coded out by someone with the software (VCDS? ) I was 20 gbp from Bellman’s Auto Electronics

Thanks, it is almost done now. Need to update the thread. Been a bit busy!

Ok thanks, I have read loads about the limiter and most seem to say it needs a remap, hard to get an answer! I managed to turn the MFD trip computer etc on using carista but couldn't get into anything to do with speed limiter. I will see if I can find someone local to sort!

Thanks guys! Sorry I haven't been on and updated the thread for a while. I have done a few more bits and pieces and have been living it on for 4 days a week for 6 months now with no problems!

I will get some updated pictures on here asap.

I upholstered some memory foam seat cushions that were cut to size by foam 4 u with some orange fabric from eBay. Think they turned out pretty good for a DIY job. I also built a simple storage unit to go down the left hand side over the wheel arch and added a 2kw inverter that fits nicely behind the bed next to the vent in the sliding door so it doesn't take up any storage room.

I have been living in it now for 4 days a week for about 6 months no problem, diesel heater kept it nice and toasty in the winter and being able to cook inside helps when it's raining! I have been using it completely off grid as I haven't added the shore power yet but the 100ah lithium battery with the DC to DC charger has provided plenty of power, the main use of power is by the diesel heater, running it about 8-12hrs a day through the winter. I added the inverter to be able to use my laptop etc and also run a small air fryer.

Next jobs are to add shore power and find some comfier seats, thinking of some Audi seats from a 3 door or a convertible so they can fold forward to give more room. At the moment I have to slide both seats forward to maximize room. I also need to sort a ceiling fan to go where the existing roof vent is, I am thinking of retro fitting a 12v fan into the opening and keeping the roof vent as it is so it is still as stealthy as possible. Thanks guys! I am pleased with how it has come out. Few more finishing touches and it will be there... Although these things are never finished!

I like the pattern you have cut into the roof. Its a subtle detail but makes all the difference.

Thanks! I thought it would be nice to have something to look at other than just plain ply. I debated doing it on the side walls too but decided it might be too much.

Just had a full read of the entire thread. Blown away by the standard you've done everything to! I'd like to think my future project will hit the same heights but I know my skills aren't even close to this!
