Went bananas and removed centre console and carpets in order to sound proof and insulate the cabin floor.

Figured I might as well do it before I fit new seat holders and seats in. Coincidentally I found Touran carpets and centre console on the local scrap yard.

Apparantly there is a special tool for removing gas pedal on VW/Audi. T10238 (LHD) and T10240 (RHD). Probably should have used that. Now i have to do a minor clip repair before fitting it all back together.

Went to the scrap yard with completely wrong clothing. It was really freezing when i stood there and disassembled the parts from the cars.Image

Spent a lot of late hours after work this week in the garage trying to finish the insulation of the floor.

Finally it starts to feel like it is coming together again.

Used this link for rough guide when modifying the touran centre console to fit in the caddy togheter. Didnt cut the front of the console like the tread maker did, but went with admin recommendation and kept the front plastic for added strength. Also, turns out I didnt need to cut as much in the rear as TM advised.

Finally fitted the Skoda Octavia vRS seats. They need a proper clean, but otherwise they look alright and is way better than the original caddy ones. Now I just have to figure out how to wire them. If anyone have access to Skoda wiring and would like to share I would be very grateful.Image

Edit:
The seats are standing on Touran seat bases. On those the location pins and holes line up perfectly.

looking very good - you must be happy, and comfortable !!
don't have any skoda details soz

I might have missed this in an earlier thread (without reading back over it all again - time poor :( ) ... but did you use any special bases for these or are they a bolt on to existing rails for the caddy (or any faffing about, cutting / drilling etc)

tks

Thanks @stu_b!

I didn’t write it out, so you haven’t missed anything in the thread. But they are standing on Touran seat bases. On those seat bases all location pins and holes line up.

I can imagine!! Maybe we will just have to mail you some. We have in abundance on the local scrap yard.

The vRS seats are very adjustable in height. So if you bolt them to caddy orginal bases in front and drill new holes in the back i think you will be good to go. Next time, which probably is soon ( when i will wire them in), I can try them on the caddy bases and take some pictures

I bought this MK6 GTD steering wheel shortly after I bought the car. After that, I found out that I have *569 steering wheel control module. That version is 3-5 times more expensive here in Sweden than the older version *549. Caddy’s manufactured after 2013.06 (mine is manufacured 2013.07) have the newer version. Then I needed a SWCM that supports MFSW and automatic gearbox. From Ross Tech forum I found out that the ones that would work for me ended in *569 B, *569 AE or *569 BD.

So, mounting the SW in the car got backlogged and it ended up on a shelf in the storage room.
Since then I have bought bits and pieces needed for the swap.

Finally, two weeks ago, I found a SWCM online at a scrap yard for reasonable money and I pulled the trigger.

Here are the numbers for the setup I ended up with in order to make the swap:
Multi Function Steering Wheel: 5K0419091M
Steering Wheel Control module: 5K0953569AE
Stalks: 5K0953502M
MFSW Airbag wiring loom: 5K0971584C

Now it is coded in with VCDS and the buttons light up and works. I even got the flappy paddles to work. Happy days!

Thanks mate! I very pleased with it as well. Just took a short drive yesterday to see that everything works. Feels a lot better than the busdriver wheel the van got delivered with.

Went to the local scrapyard this weekend and made some decent finds.

Amongst other things I found a gear knob and a handbrake cover in leather from a Caddy -18. Love these finds even more since they match the seats and the newly fitted steering wheel.
