Apologies if this is in the wrong section.
2018 Caddy Maxi Highline
The rear door sensor intermittently shows that the door is open, even when it's not. This can happen whether locked and stationary or driving along. When locked it sets the alarm off, when driving the courtesy light illuminates and the dash display shows the door is open. On inspection the door is closed and secure.
1. How can I test what is faulty and repair/replace as needed?
2. Can I disable the sensor so the fault doesn't cause my problems?
Thanks.

Re: Rear Door Sensor
@Loz2286 check the connection to the rear door bottom lock .
To get to it you will need to remove the rear door ply cover panel.
I had the same happen to mines unsure to this day how water got into my rear door. I found water had tracked back to the latch and run out and had puddled in the door catch inside the van (main barn door ).
I removed the ply cover unbolted the latch from the door which has a built in connection. I found the connections were lightly corroded . I cleaned these the best I could with a little contact spay cleaner and an ear bud. I built it all back up and now works fine.

Re: Rear Door Sensor
The high level brake light is the usual source of water ingress into the rear door and subsequently the lock.
