From builders van to DogVan

Owned my caddy since September last year and been chipping away at it.
Bought it completely standard except from stance+ coilovers. It had only done 34k miles when I picked it up but it was a plumber/heating engineer that had it before me judging by the random copper pipes and Greggs receipts under the seats. Considering it was a works van it’s actually in pretty good condition.

First thing I did was tidy up the back so I could get the dog boxes in.
The tartan is a reoccurring theme for me. Did the door cards and gearstick gaiters on a few of my previous cars. Flooring was just cheap stuff that should make cleaning up after the dogs easier.

Next up was my first mistake…. Picked up TD Pro Race 1.2s that I was told were ET45. Went to all the effort of getting them refurbed and tyres on before thought to try them on the van.
Turns out they were ET20 and stopped the sliding door from opening. To say I was gutted is an understatement.
So those wheels sat in the garage and I fitted these to do me until I decide what I really want.

The standard seats weren’t cutting it so I picked up some Mk6 GTI tartans, touran bases, carpets and centre console.
Next on the list:
Colour coding the bumpers, mirrors and side strips.
Fitting the slimline roof vent.
345/310mm R32 brakes all round.

Lovely doggos!
Could you not extend the door bracket like toffee2k did?

So wheels fit? (I know nothing about offset btw)

I did think about spacing the sliding door out to make it work or cutting and welding a section from the door like some people have done but decided against it for now. Those wheels are gone now but I do have my eye on another set that could need some work to fit.

Shame they looked well
But better doing what you want rather than “make do” or never happy
Ooo whats lined up next?

Need to get the bodywork sorted and get the rear R32 brakes on to match the fronts before I do anything else. I’ll just be chipping away at jobs like redoing the carpet lining in the back over winter then I can sort nicer alloys next year.
Want to build some kind of storage drawers for under the dogs crates too.
