Removal of third row

Post by walternue »

Hello everybody,

I am a newbie Caddy owner, and I am wondering how to remove the third row of seats in my 2019 maxi version. I tried the following: I folded the seats forward, pulled both latches (I see the red bits), and tried to pull the seats, but they do not move at all.

Do you have any idea what might be wrong?

Thank you,
Walter

The twin bench seat fitted in my 2012 7 seat maxi slides in from the front.

To remove it you need to pull the release cord and when the red bits appear just push the seat towards the front until it is released from the floor pegs..

When reinstating the seat - you place the seat on the plastic floor rail just ahead of the respective mounting pegs and then firmly push the seat towards the rear of the car until it latches into place.

Note - those red indicators will not be visible once the seat is fully secure. If you can see the red warning section at either end of the seat - it is alerting you to the risk the seat could potentially slide forward - and still needs to be latched into place.

Sorry please ignore my previous post - on the Caddy Maxi the rear bench seat slides forward to remove.

It has just stopped raining and I have just tried it (I rarely remove the blighter as it weighs a tonne).

First step lower the backrest so it is flat (pull that upper hoop to release the seat back). Then pull on the two lower hoops until the red warning sections appear fully. Push seat forward firmly. If it has not been moved in ages spray with WD40 as there is a locking mechanism lurking inside the seat foot which can seize in place..
